My Favorite Tools and Services

Here’s a roundup of several of the tools and services that help me run my photography business smoothly. If you use the links below, it lets them know I sent you and in most cases, gets you a discount too. Thank you!

Small Business Tools

Regardless of what your business does, here are a few resources that can help you.

Google Workspace (including a Gemini subscription!): A paid business account is definitely worth the small cost. And it’ll scale if your business grows.

17Hats: As the name implies, 17Hats help you juggle the many hats we wear as small businesses. I especially like the lead management and quoting functionality. But the service does a lot more.

Square: Square makes it easy to take payments anywhere, but it also offers a large and growing suite of tools to help run your business.

Photography / Videography

Headshot Tools: If you do lots of corporate headshots, I highly recommend Headshot Tools. It’s super efficient and works best with CaptureOne. Your clients will have their proof images before they get back to their desk!

Evoto: AI retouching is here to stay, and Evoto is leading the charge in many respects. While the feature set continues to grow, I find the service ideal for retouching large quantities of headshots. But it’s great for any people photography as well.

Pixieset: Offering clients an attractive gallery page of their session is key. Clients need to be able to download, share and print their images.

SmallHD: In the cinematography world, you’ll see SmallHD all over most production sets. They make amazing and durable color accurate monitors. For 10% off, use code SCOTTLAWRENCE10 or click the link above.

Wooden Camera: When you need to start rigging more gear to your cinema camera, look to Wooden Camera. For 10% off, use code SCOTTLAWRENCE10 or click the link above.

SmallRig: See the dashboard for all the options.

Trusted Friends

Having worked with those on this list, I can confidently recommend them to anyone needing their services.

Meller Marketing: Brenda Meller is a pro at LinkedIn strategy and coaching, specializing in helping the self-employed, executives, corporate teams and job seekers.
